I came across this quote by Stephen R. Covey on LinkedIn today and it just really hit home with my management style and what I believe works best. It’s all about treating everyone including the members of your team, as human beings. The way to get the best out of anyone is to speak to them, listen to them and make sure they know how much you value them. If you do this then their is no limit to what each individual working together as a team can achieve.
I have been witness to both sides of this quote. My best times as an employee and leader have been when the organization that I was a part of lived this quote everyday. I have also witnessed the completely opposite. Those days were difficult at best. Especially when I am a strong believer in treating your employees like your best customer.
