Thursday’s Thoughts – Holiday Edition

I missed last week’s Thursday’s Thought due to Thanksgiving. With the start of Thanksgiving, we are entering the holiday season. Focus is on the shopping and getting ready from Christmas or whatever you celebrate. This got me thinking about what would be some really thoughts that are centered on the holidays.

Why is it so hard for folks to no believe that everyone celebrates XMAS? Over the years, folks have been attempting to say, “Happy Holidays” to insure that they do not reach out and say something to someone else that would be inappropriate. I have seen an increase in meme’s that are starting are asking folks to say Merry XMAS.

Why do people have to push their thoughts, beliefs or opinions onto other?

For me, I don’t want to push my anything onto anyone else. My first, I thought was that I am getting older and have seen enough to not want to do that to anyone. Then I thought about how must older individuals like to push their thoughts onto everyone younger… Like they are parting sage wisdom onto anyone that will hear them. I next thought that I am growing wiser in my later years. That could not be true! Wiser, I totally doubt that. I moved onto the thought that maybe I am more tolerable of stuff. The problem here is when I hear people say, “Merry XMAS,” I want to say, “Happy Hanukah” back at them. The tolerable thing to do is just say, “You too!” I am not sure what I am going to do, until it happens. I can guarantee that when I start the conversation – it will be “Happy Holidays!”
