I love November… Why?
#1 – Weather! For those of us that live in Arizona, we can finally get a break from the heat. The A/C bill will finally start to go down. The day gets shorter and we get some great cool evenings!
#2 – Thanksgiving! My wife and I love celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. We love it so much that we have had up to 50 people at our house! There is nothing better than getting together and being thankful for the past year with the people that mean so much in your life…
#3 – No Shave November – Movember! I used to love letting the whiskers grow… Now that the beard is mostly grey, I usually pass. The family is not a fan of the Santa look. I can’t blame them – it just does not look good.
#4 – Black Friday Specials! Everyone loves to get a great deal on stuff. It usually starts your December holiday shopping off on the right foot.
#5 – Kicks off the cooking season! The food is where it is at… I know plenty of people that love to cook in November and December. Since I love my sweets, I get plenty of them kicking off with November!
I used to be a big fan of with November daylight savings time – you get that extra hour of sleep. Since moving to Arizona, I have lost all of that… What I do remember about daylight saving time while working at Intel was – I used to get to work an hour ahead of the California folks.. Meaning – I got lots done before they showed up to work. I also got out of there an hour earlier than them!
